Grandpas Shed really started way back in my childhood. My dad was a builder and I was his helper. As I grew older, I became more of a helper learning a lot about working with wood and the tools involved. He had a very good workshop and would love to see mine now. I wanted to be a builder too. However not to be as my brother had already taken that road and Dad thought it was far to cut throat so insisted that I follow in my uncle’s footsteps and become a motor mechanic. It was ok but after 8 years I turned to sales. Cleaner hands.
Fast forward quite a lot of years with a lot more experience and tools my wife Sally asked me to make a Giftbox for her to sell her jams in. The orders grew therefore the demand for boxes grew to the stage where I was kicked out of the garage and told to find a lockup to work from. From these beginnings came Grandpa’s Shed as I was commissioned to make items for others.
I enjoy my time in my shed making things from wood and am very proud of the range of old school wooden children’s toys.
The biggest joy is seeing smiles from my work.
